Nakhweh.org comes back with new features to support startups and CSR 0

As part of its mission to enhance volunteerism and social entrepreneurship culture in the Arab world; Nakhweh’s leading volunteer matching portal, Nakhweh.org, was relaunched after few weeks of taking it offline for a revamp.

Nakhweh.org comes back with some interesting new features and services that aims to empower volunteers and highlights the importance of volunteerism as well as supporting nonprofit organizations, social entrepreneurs, startups and corporate social responsibly (CSR). The platform enables startups to post volunteering opportunities and corporates to recruit volunteers for their CSR activities, it also introduces remote volunteering and other features to help ease the follow up, archiving and feedback process of the volunteer applications.

“We introduced the online volunteer matching service for the region in August 2009, and since then, we have been learning a lot on how to maximize the benefit and the outreach of such a service.”, Kamel Al-Asmar, Co-founder and Executive Director of Nakhweh said.

“By enabling startups and corporates to use Nakhweh.org’s services, we are aiming to connect more people and to highlight the impact of the initiatives and work taking place in the Arab world”, Al-Asmar added.

Hadi Nasereddin, Nakhweh’s co-founder and Executive Vice President for Outreach and Engagement, said: “Posting volunteering opportunities from all over the region became easier, the new Nakhweh.org allows to link opportunities to other websites and Facebook event pages and it doesn’t force organizations to host them or receive applications on Nakhweh, if they have their own volunteer recruitment service”.

On the other hand; Nakhweh uses social media to promote volunteering opportunities and spread awareness through different campaigns, the current campaign “Sho El Qessa?” (What’s The Story?) allows volunteers to share inspiring stories from their volunteering experience with others and show how a very small deed can have a great impact on others. The campaign is sponsored by Arab Bank and taking place through a Facebook application on Nakhweh’s Facebook page.
